Andy Turner

CEO, Founder and Broker

Andy Turner is the CEO and Founder of Spaces.  Turner leads the Spaces team with a commitment to excellence guided by the Spaces foundational purpose of enriching lives and communities through residential services and its core values.  He is focused on delivering value added services and building loyal relationships.  Turner also keeps an emphasis on the necessity of improving and innovating processes to provide the best possible customer experience.  In addition to leadership, Turner primarily works on strategy development, business development, and customer relationships.

Turner began his career in real-estate in 2004 as a real estate agent, and then in 2005 founded what is today Spaces Management.  Since then, Turner has been involved in all aspects of managing and leasing residential communities.  Notable projects where Turner was involved in part or in full for the site selection, development plan, re-zoning, pre-construction lease-up, or long-term management include:  Midtown Village, Traditions, Crimson Place, Capstone Quarters, Houndstooth, Sterling Crimson Living, The Bluff at Water Works Landing, The Grove at Water Works Landing, The Nine at Tuscaloosa, The Nine at Memphis, The Nine at West Campus, The Nine at Rio, Blue Haus, and The Walk.  Turner believes that his success can be attributed to his commitment to provide stellar service built on a foundation of virtuous character. 

Turner completed five years of coursework and a case study to receive the coveted Professional Community Association Manager designation from Community Associations Institute in 2013.  He also holds the Association Management Specialist designation, is a licensed Realtor, and Homebuilder.

Prior to working in real estate sales and development, Andy worked as an instructor of Business Ethics and Small Company Management for the University of Alabama. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Alabama, and went on to receive his PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Alabama.  During his time in school he received numerous awards including the National Alumni Association Graduate Fellow, the Graduate Council Fellowship, the Langston T. Hawley Management Graduate Scholarship Award, the Betty Loomis Distinguished Student Scholarship, the Minnie C. Miles Human Resources Management Endowed Graduate Scholarship, the Coleman Scholarship, and the Frederick Augustine Brett Memorial Endowed Scholarship. In addition, he has also worked as an industry consultant, and as a leadership counselor.

Steve Case


Steve Case serves as the President of Spaces. In this capacity Steve leads the organization with responsibility for the overall day-to-day operations and financial management of the company.  Steve’s extensive background in finance and accounting is a valuable asset in his role as he creates and maintains the appropriate processes and systems throughout the company to provide the best customer experience, financial reporting, accountability, and internal controls for Spaces and its customers. 

Prior to serving as President of Spaces, Steve served as CFO for Land and Natural Resource Development, Inc. for four years, and prior to that he was at Jamison Money Farmer, PC Accounting Firm for 20 years where he was a Partner in the firm. 

Steve graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alabama. He is a Certified Public Accountant with 24+ years of accounting experience, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants. 

Nicki Hall

Vice-President of Association Management

Nicki Hall leads the Association Management division, and will have primary oversight for your Association.  Hall joined the Spaces Management team in May of 2015, and has provided excellent leadership and growth for the Association Management division.  She serves on the Associates Council and the Board of Directors of the Homebuilders Association of Tuscaloosa. 

Prior to joining Spaces Management, Hall led the Tuscaloosa Association of Realtors as the Executive Vice-President/CEO.  During her 13 years at the Tuscaloosa Association of Realtors, Hall built a network of relationships in the Tuscaloosa real estate community, and invaluable experience in leading the Board of Directors and a wide variety of Committees.  Hall is a native of Tuscaloosa and a University of Alabama graduate. She completed the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) designation through CAI shortly after starting with Spaces, and is continuing her pursuit of additional education through CAI in order to achieve the PCAM designation. 

Ross Peterson

Director of Operations

Ross is the Director of Operations at Spaces.  As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, Ross drives the company’s overall leasing, business development and rental management strategy as well as helps ensure continued growth, and team member commitment to customer success.

Additionally, he ensures Spaces leadership position in the fundamental areas of pre-leasing, customer service, creating a sense of community, and brand buy-in.

Ross graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration degree with a Major in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Alabama. He is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson, passionate about building relationships and connecting people with great properties, whether for investment or personal use.

Trena Wise


Trena Wise leads the day to day operations of the Accounting department and her expertise will be used to streamline processes and ensure that the goals and objectives of the Accounting department are met in a timely manner . Wise recently joined the Spaces Management team in October 2019 and brings over 18 years of Corporate Accounting experience.

Prior to joining Spaces Management, Wise managed the operations for several Oil and Gas entities located in Tuscaloosa. Wise is a University of Alabama graduate and is continuing her pursuit of additional education to achieve the CMA certification

Carol Cotton

Accounts Payable Supervisor 

Carol Cotton joined the Spaces Management team in 2011 as our receptionist and maintenance coordinator, quickly assuming the role of Accounts Payable Supervisor.  She is responsible for the timely management of all invoices and payments for  our Association and Rental Departments.

Prior to joining Spaces Management, Cotton honed her accounting skills with a national gas pipeline company while playing a critical role in the management of financials for pipeline construction projects across the Southeastern US.  Cotton grew up in Northport, AL and holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama.  She has been married to Wesley Cotton, of Eutaw, AL since 2010 and welcomed a daughter, Grace, in 2017.  In her spare time, Cotton enjoys spending time with her family (including her corgi, Winston), finding hidden gems at estate sales and antique shops, and listening to true crime podcasts.

Nikki Van Luvender

Association Accounting Manager

Nikki Van Luvender heads the Association Management Accounting division and will have primary oversight for your Association’s Financials.  Ms. Van Luvender joined the Spaces Management team in April of 2012 as a Staff Accountant, and worked diligently to become the Association Accounting Manager.  She is a member of the National Notary Association and Community Association Institute. 

Prior to joining Spaces Management, Ms. Van Luvender had 9 years of accounting experience. Ms. Van Luvender is a native of Tuscaloosa and a University of Alabama graduate. She is continuing her pursuit of additional education through CAI in order to achieve the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) designation.

Kelly Simspon

Community Association Manager

Kelly Simpson is a lifelong resident of Tuscaloosa and has over 15 years of experience in the property management industry. Before being hired by Spaces Management in September of 2018, Kelly had a very successful career as a local property manager at multiple apartment complexes owned by corporations outside of Tuscaloosa.

As a Manager in the Association Department, Kelly primarily works with neighborhood homeowner associations. Kelly has achieved the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) designation and is currently working towards her AMS and PCAM designations.

Lori Toxey

Community Association Manager / Realtor

Lori Toxey joined our team as an Association Manager for the Spaces Management Association Department in July of 2019. Lori got her start in property management in 2013 and received her Realtor license in 2015.

In the Association Department, Lori manages both condominium associations and neighborhood associations. She maintains her real estate license and Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) designation and  is working towards her AMS and PCAM designations.

Alex Trejo

Assistant Community Association Manager

Alejandra “Alex” Trejo Nava joined the Spaces Management Association Department in April 2019. In her role Alex works manages neighborhood associations and assists all Association Managers and plays a major role in the Department’s daily operations. She recently obtained the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) designation, is working towards her AMS and ultimately her PCAM designation.

Alex came to Spaces Management from Traditions Law Group, where she served as a legal secretary and managed the firm’s collections cases, including all the Spaces Management accounts. Alex is a native of Tuscaloosa and has a degree in Business Office Administration.

Brooke Herring

On-Site Community Association Manager / Realtor

Brooke Herring joined the Spaces Management team as part of the Association Management division in June of 2019 and oversees the property management of the University Downs Condominium Home Owner’s Association. Brooke joins our team with eleven years of experience in the Tuscaloosa property management market. She is currently working on expanding her education through CAI by completing the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) designation.

Brooke has been a resident of Tuscaloosa county for 25 years. She has one daughter who currently attends Shelton State Community College as a member of the Lady Bucs softball team and one son who attends Northside High School and plays varsity baseball.

Wade Farris

On-Site Community Association Manager / Realtor

Wade Farris is the onsite Property Manager and Community Association Manager for Traditions Condominiums. Farris also handles leasing and is a licensed Realtor. Farris joined the Spaces Management team in June of 2019, and has led many community improvement projects to date.

Prior to joining Spaces Management, Farris was a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty here in Tuscaloosa, building relationships with home buyers and sellers, mortgage lenders and fellow Realtors and served on the Tuscaloosa Association of Realtor’s Safety Committee. Prior to Real Estate, Farris spent 38 years in Retail Management, guiding the teams of various Specialty and Big Box Retail Stores. Farris is a native of Tuscaloosa and a Holt High School graduate. He is pursuing the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) designation through CAI.

Christina McCalpine

On-Site Community Association Manager / Realtor

Christina McCalpine is the Property Manager of Crimson Place Condominiums and acting Manager of the Home Owner’s Association. Christina joined the Spaces Management team in August of 2019 and has begun using her interpersonal skills to become a prime team member. Christina began working in Tax Credit Property Management in 2013. Since 2014, she has served as a member of the Chamber of Commerce in the Birmingham Metropolitan area. During her six year tenure of property management, Christina annually was presented with awards and received recognition. Her awards include the coveted Rising Star Award and repeatedly received the Beautification Award from the City of Tarrant.

Before discovering her love for property management, she worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a Customer Service Representative and a training lead. Christina is a native of Tuscaloosa and a Stillman College Graduate where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. She is actively pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Marketing.

Macy Hunt

On-Site Community Association Manager / Realtor

Macy Hunt began work as a Real estate assistant in her hometown of Tupelo, Mississippi in 2016. She grew to love the real estate industry and move to Tuscaloosa, Alabama where she obtained her real estate license in 2019. Macy worked as a real estate assistant and a licensed Realtor at Keller Williams Realty. As a Realtor her love for community associations grew and later lead her to join the Spaces team in 2020. Macy is the onsite property manager and community association manager at Capstone Quarters. She also handles leasing and holds an active Real Estate license.

Denise Reach

On-Site Community Association Manager / Realtor 

Denise Reach is the onsite Property Manager and Community Association Manager for Midtown Village
Condominiums. Reach also handles leasing and is a licensed Realtor. Reach joined the Spaces Management team in August of 2021 and looks forward to spearheading community development.

Prior to joining Spaces Management, Reach was a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty and a property
manager for over 10 years. She is incredibly passionate about serving her community and building meaningful relationships with all potential clients, be they buyers/sellers, mortgage lenders, or tenants. Prior to Real Estate, Reach was in banking/finance for roughly 15 years. She is an Alabama native and a
graduate of Holt High School.

Rachel Hill

Leasing Agent / Realtor

Originally from Atlanta Georgia, Rachel Hill moved to Tuscaloosa to attend the University of Alabama in 2016. After earning a B.S. in Psychology, Hill began working for Spaces Management in June of 2020. She recently obtained her real estate license and works on the leasing and sales team.

Blake Seay


Blake Seay is your “go-to” agent for all of your Real Estate needs whether it is Buying, Selling or Leasing. With a reputation for being passionate about meeting the needs and goals of his clients. Blake specializes in bringing peace of mind to those whom have previously struggled with selling their homes on their own, or with another agent. Blakes work ethic has landed him to be one of the Top 3 producing agents in Etowah/Cherokee County in the past 4 years and the Top agent in his previous company before moving to Tuscaloosa. His knowledge and go-getter attitude let him set new records in selling the most Expensive home’s in Gadsden and Guntersville AL. He is very big in Social Media and Digital Advertising.

Tommy Ford


As associate athletics director, Tommy Ford retired from the University of Alabama Athletics Department on Sept. 1, 2019. Ford, a native of Gadsden, Alabama, earned his B.S. in Finance from the University of Alabama in 1978 and his M.A. in Higher Education Administration from the University in 1998.

As a student at Alabama from 1974-78, Ford served in the SGA Senate, Jasons, and the Kappa Alpha Order, and during his senior year (1977-78) was sports editor of The Crimson White school newspaper. After graduating from the Capstone, Ford returned to Gadsden before going back to the University in 1982.

From 1982-87, Ford worked for the National Alumni Association in alumni chapter development and fundraising. In 1987, he was hired as assistant ticket manager in the Athletics Department, and then was promoted to ticket manager, a position in which he served from 1987-93. For thirteen years from 1993-2006, Ford was director of TIDE PRIDE, the Athletics Department’s football and basketball ticket priority program.

From 2006-2009, Ford served as director of the Athletics Department’s new annual fund, the A+ Incentives Program, now known as the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund. From 2009 until his retirement from the University, Ford oversaw the A-Club Alumni Association, the school’s official letter-winners organization, and the Red Elephant Club booster groups. In summer 2020, Ford joined Tuscaloosa’s Spaces Realty LLC as a realtor, specializing in luxury condominiums located in the “footprint” of Bryant-Denny Stadium and Coleman Coliseum.

Ford is the author or co-author of ten books: Alabama’s Family Tides; The University of Alabama All-Access Football Vault®; the Alabama-Auburn Rivalry Football Vault®; Bear Bryant on Leadership; Tornado to National Title #14; Crimson Domination: The Process Behind Alabama’s 15th National Championship; A Season to Remember: Faith in the Midst of the Storm; Crimson Mission: Coach Saban & the Tide Silence Critics with 16th National Championship; The University of Alabama Football Vault®, and 17 (the story of Alabama’s 2017 national championship).

Ford is married to the former Robin Rich of Gadsden, and the couple has one son, 23-year-old John Michael.

Maria Hargrove

Administrative Assistant

Maria joined Spaces in February 2021 as the Community Association Assistant, and now she also assists the Accounting Department for Corporate Spaces. 

Prior to joining Spaces, Maria ran a Lifestyle Portrait Photography Business.   

Aside from working at Spaces, she has been a certified fitness instructor for 2 years and teaches several group fitness classes at Crunch Fitness. 

Originally from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. After relocating several times throughout her life, she moved to Tuscaloosa in 2005. Maria is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

Alison Schwartz

Administrative Assistant

Alison Schwartz joined the Spaces Management team in February of 2021 as the onsite Assistant Property Manager for Midtown Village Condominiums. She is responsible for Midtown’s client
management and marketing content creation.

Originally from New York, Schwartz moved down to Tuscaloosa in 2019, where she began working as a Transaction Coordinator and Marketer for the Tommy Banks Team at Keller Williams. Here, Schwartz honed her client relations and marketing skills by playing a critical role in rebranding and lead generation. Schwartz holds a B.S. in Marketing from St. John’s University with a Minor in Physics. In her
spare time, she enjoys hiking and kayaking with her Fiancé, Steven Davis, and her wonderful dog, Red. Schwartz is currently pursuing her Real Estate License so she can better serve the Midtown community.
